1. About Us

These Terms & Conditions govern the supply of goods and services by Balaz Enterprise Global Ltd (Companies House: 16373292), a company registered in England and Wales at 44b Hackwood Road, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG21 3AE, trading as Shutters by Balaz ("we", "us", "our"). By requesting a quote, placing an order, or using our website, you agree to these Terms.

2. Quotations and Orders

  • All quotations are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
  • A quotation does not constitute a binding contract. A contract is formed only when we confirm acceptance of your order in writing (by email or message).
  • Prices quoted are based on the measurements taken during the home survey. If actual measurements differ materially from those provided by the customer prior to survey, we reserve the right to revise the price.
  • All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable, unless otherwise stated.

3. Pricing

Our standard supply-and-fit pricing starts from £265 per m², fully fitted. This includes a free home survey, professional measurement, supply of shutters, and installation. Supply-only (DIY) pricing starts from £255 per m².

Final pricing is confirmed in your written quotation. We reserve the right to update our standard pricing at any time; however, any confirmed written quotation will be honoured for 30 days from the date of issue.

4. Payment Terms

  • A 50% deposit is required to confirm your order and commence manufacture. The remaining 50% is due upon completion of installation.
  • For supply-only (DIY) orders placed via our website, full payment is required at the time of order.
  • Payment may be made by bank transfer, card payment via Stripe, or such other methods as agreed in writing.
  • We reserve the right to charge statutory interest on overdue invoices under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

5. Manufacturing and Delivery

  • All shutters are made to measure and manufactured to your specific requirements. Lead times are typically 4–8 weeks from order confirmation, depending on style and material. We will provide an estimated lead time at the time of order.
  • Lead times are estimates only and may be affected by factors outside our control (e.g. supplier delays, adverse weather). We will notify you of any significant delay as soon as reasonably practicable.
  • Because shutters are made to measure, we cannot accept returns or cancellations once manufacturing has commenced, except where goods are faulty (see Section 7).

6. Installation

  • Installation will be carried out by us or our authorised installers at the address specified in your order.
  • You are responsible for ensuring reasonable access to the property on the agreed installation date. If access is not possible and we cannot complete the installation, a re-attendance fee may apply.
  • We will take reasonable care to protect your property during installation. Any damage caused directly by our negligence will be remedied at our cost.
  • Minor wall fixings (screws, plugs) are required to fit shutters. We are not responsible for pre-existing structural weaknesses in walls or window frames.

7. Warranty

We provide a 5-year minimum warranty on all shutters we supply and install, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal domestic use. This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, accident, or failure to follow care instructions.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Damage caused by exposure to excessive moisture (e.g. steam rooms, outdoor use) unless shutters are specifically rated for such environments.
  • Shutters that have been modified or repaired by a third party.

8. Cancellation and Returns

  • Before manufacturing commences: You may cancel your order within 14 days of order confirmation (in accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) and receive a full refund of any deposit paid, provided manufacturing has not yet started.
  • After manufacturing commences: Because shutters are custom-made to your specifications, we are unable to accept cancellations or returns once manufacturing has started, except where goods are faulty or not as described.
  • Supply-only (website) orders: As these are bespoke goods, the right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply once manufacturing has commenced. If you wish to cancel before manufacturing starts, please contact us immediately.
  • Faulty goods: If your shutters arrive damaged or faulty, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery or installation. We will arrange repair or replacement at no additional cost.

9. Limitation of Liability

Our liability to you in connection with any order is limited to the total value of that order. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from the supply of our goods or services, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law (e.g. death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, and design — is owned by or licensed to Shutters by Balaz. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute any content from this website without our prior written consent.

11. Website Use

Our website is provided for informational purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that the website is free from errors or always available. We reserve the right to modify or withdraw the website at any time.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
